The Mel Bornstein Clinic for Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy

Want to join in making a difference?

We are raising money to benefit The Mel Bornstein Clinic for Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy; any donation will help create an impact. The demand for mental health services is at an all-time high. We are a Clinic providing high-quality psychodynamic psychotherapy and psychoanalysis for the community. Given our mission to serve all community members, patients appropriate for our services are seen, no matter their insurance or financial resources. Patients with limited financial resources are offered reduced fees and grants.

Why is the kind of therapy we provide important?

The Mel Bornstein Clinic provides psychodynamic and psychoanalytic psychotherapy. Most community mental health centers or other sliding scale clinics provide short-term, behaviorally oriented treatment. While these treatments have their place, the Mel Bornstein Clinic offers a unique opportunity for long-term, in-depth, insight-oriented psychotherapy. This kind of treatment allows patients to make sense of their current struggles in light of earlier childhood experiences, attachments and relationships to promote long-term change. The clinic is dedicated to this form of therapy, as it can be life-changing for patients and communities.

Who are the clinicians providing the treatment?

Our dedicated clinicians are the backbone of our organization. They have chosen to work in a non-profit setting, built less than six years ago from scratch, and are still giving their all. Currently, we have 13 therapists and two psychiatrists working for us, providing the "on-the-ground" (and "on-the-screen") work. Because we are committed to accepting all forms of insurance, many of their reimbursements are below that of their colleagues in private practice or for-profit clinics. Your donation can help support them directly via the grant. One of our goals is to supplement their low fees with grant fund assistance, bringing their rates to an appropriate level given their significant education and experiences.

Veterans Connected

We support Veterans and their families through spiritual support, tangible, meaningful assistance, and a sense of community.

Serving Our Community
Veterans Connected is committed to reducing the veteran suicide rate from 22 per day to zero. Through advocacy, mental health support, and fostering community connections, our organization provides resources and hope to empower veterans to overcome challenges and thrive.

In 2019, 27% of Veterans in the state did not qualify for any financial support due to a multitude of reasons; from not being injured in the line of duty, to income requirements, or not being in the right era of service. These factors coupled with the demand to do hands-on serving projects, as a core group, we decided to "fix the problem in a Christian way," and leave no Veteran behind.

Most Veteran Service Organizations have limitations by geographical location, fundraising, and qualification constraints built into their bylaws, we don't. Our only requirements are there must be a viable need for support, and you must have served in the military. We do our due diligence on the need requested and the financial health of the military family and decide usually within days, whereas most service organizations cannot act as fast.

Veterans Connected does not discriminate against any person on the basis of race, color, national origin, disability, age, faith, sex, or the character of a veteran's discharge in participation in its programs, services and activities.
